The Teatro de la Zarzuela presents the 2021/2022 Season whose 164 programmed performances, which maintain the average of recent years, will be the embodiment of the fact that a new horizon is already in sight. This is what Daniel Bianco, director of the coliseum, points out, who calls the new course "the season of illusion."

Illusion because Spanish music, and especially zarzuela, will continue to sound on this stage that this year celebrates 165 years and whose activity makes it a unique lyrical venue in the world. Its director is firmly convinced that "music and the scene are capable of changing the world for the better".

In this very complicated stage due to the pandemic, the first responsibility and commitment of the Teatro de la Zarzuela as a public theater has been (and is) the prudence that allowed us to complete last season without cancellations, strictly complying with all the recommendations and regulations of protection against the coronavirus dictated by the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music.

Throughout this new season, many men and women will make this theater their world, their argument, their home, seeking the joy of those who occupy the seats. Technicians, choir, singers, dancers, actresses, actors, artists all of them who love and arm the theater with the magical mission of raising the curtain every night and awakening in each spectator intelligence, passion and fantasy through drama and comedy. Always with music with Ñ as the soundtrack that will undoubtedly make those who decide to be happy, at least for a few hours. Without an audience the theater has no meaning, it would not exist. That is why the Teatro de la Zarzuela faces this new adventure by taking his hand again. With optimism and enthusiasm, because this is, always has been, the theater of anyone who wants to come and join the party.
