Highlights of the stay
- New Year's concert at Teatro La Fenice
- La Traviata at Palazzo Barbarigo
- Dinner at Le Maschere Restaurant
- A private visit on the theme of your choice
- Your personal M&O assistant 24 hours a day
Timeless Venice, the city of music par excellence, where great composers have lived (Monteverdi, Vivaldi...) and where its splendours have inspired many others (Handel, Gluck, Puccini). The sumptuous Teatro La Fenice alone is well worth the trip, with its New Year's Eve gala an institution in its own right (conducted this year by the superb Daniel Harding). But the exclusive plunge into classical music doesn't stop there. Another evening is on offer with a performance of La Traviata at the Palazzo Barbarigo Minotto in the various rooms of the palace, lit by candlelight in a spirit worthy of Caravaggio. For lovers of pure classical music, a Vivaldi concert by the professional Interpreti Veneziani can be chosen instead of the opera.
The final highlight of your stay is a traditional Venetian dinner, during which a private guide will take you on a discovery tour of the lakeside city on a theme of your choice: "Unusual Venice", "Music in 17th- and 18th-century Venice", "Art in Venice" or "Daily life of the aristocracy in the 18th century".
New: an extension on request is available to discover Padova, another splendour of the Veneto region, some fifty kilometres from Venice. A specialist private guide will take you on a tour of this jewel.
