A cultural capital as well as a city of elegance, Milan combines heritage, creativity and modernity in a distinctive balance. From the Duomo to Sforza Castle, from the Navigli canals to the Brera district and its Pinacoteca, the city lends itself to a tailor-made exploration. A private tour will reveal its many facets, whether through its historic monuments, artistic treasures or contemporary architecture.
Two evenings at La Scala form the heart of this journey. Verdi’s Macbeth, conducted by Myung-Whun Chung and staged by Barrie Kosky, brings together Luca Salsi, Anastasia Bartoli, René Pape and Francesco Meli for an immersion into one of the composer’s darkest worlds. The following evening marks the premiere of Massenet’s Don Quichotte at La Scala. Bertrand de Billy conducts Damiano Michieletto’s production, featuring Alex Esposito as the knight of “sublime” madness, Gaëlle Arquez as Dulcinée and Giulio Mastrototaro as Sancho Panza.
An evening imbued with dreams, enchantment, tenderness and melancholy.
