The highlight of your stay will be Verdi’s Macbeth at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, presented in concert form under the baton of Nicola Luisotti. Ludovic Tézier will portray Macbeth opposite Anna Netrebko as Lady Macbeth. This dark and dramatic score, inspired by Shakespeare, resonates particularly strongly in Florence: it was here, at the Teatro della Pergola, that Macbeth—a gripping tale of power, ambition and tragic downfall—received its world premiere in 1847.
