The festive season begins at the Deutsche Oper with The Nutcracker, the timeless masterpiece that delights audiences year after year. At the Berlin Philharmonie, the legendary Berliner Philharmoniker will be conducted by their chief conductor Kirill Petrenko in a festive programme featuring Shostakovich, Prokofiev and the Strausses, with the participation of the young virtuoso pianist Alexander Malofeev.
Finally, New Year’s Eve will be celebrated at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden with From Babelsberg to Hollywood, an evening conducted by Christian Thielemann at the helm of the prestigious Staatskapelle Berlin, celebrating the finest music from German and Hollywood cinema.
A refined programme combining ballet, symphonic concert and New Year’s Eve gala, led by two of the greatest conductors of our time, to welcome the new year amid Berlin’s vibrant cultural atmosphere.
