Between the sea, mountains and fjords, Bergen reveals scenery of breathtaking beauty, where the Nordic light meets the intensity of a vibrant cultural life. A former Hanseatic city whose charm has been carefully preserved, renowned for the colourful façades of Bryggen and its warm atmosphere, Bergen provides the perfect setting for a musical stay dedicated to emotion, contemplation and moments of shared artistic inspiration. In this cultural capital of western Norway, music naturally finds its place amid a rich heritage, spectacular landscapes and an openness to the world.

The programme opens with Ritual, a musical experience led by Yo-Yo Ma, a universally acclaimed artist whose presence makes every performance a rare moment of connection and sharing. Through this unique event, the festival invites audiences to explore the power of the musical gesture, where introspection, transmission and contemporary resonances come together. The journey continues with Beethoven's Missa solemnis, a monumental work in which sacred devotion, sonic architecture and dramatic intensity unite in a profoundly humanistic vision. Two complementary highlights brought together within the inspiring atmosphere of the Bergen Music Festival.

A journey through Nordic landscapes, spiritual depth and unforgettable musical emotions.
