Details on the Performance
A landmark of Beethoven’s repertoire, this programme brings together the radiant Violin Concerto, the spirited Fourth Symphony and the dramatic scene Ah! Perfido. Leonidas Kavakos, Anna Prohaska and the Gewandhausorchester, conducted by Andris Nelsons, illuminate its striking expressive range, from Classical poise and theatrical intensity to Beethoven’s unmistakable visionary freedom.
The Violin Concerto offers an especially poetic dialogue between soloist and orchestra.
