Since Berlin regained the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, its historic opera house, opportunities to visit one of the world’s greatest cultural capitals have multiplied, especially during the Festtage, the Festival days when major events take place.

The 2027 Festival opens under the sign of excellence with an exceptional recital by Joyce DiDonato, the renowned American mezzo-soprano, who reveals the full range of her artistry in a programme of rare intensity.

The emotion continues with two essential masterpieces of the operatic repertoire: Richard Wagner’s Tannhäuser and Giacomo Puccini’s Manon Lescaut. These two exceptional productions, featuring prestigious casts, come to life on the legendary stage of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden.

The journey concludes with a concert by the Staatskapelle Berlin, conducted by the great Christian Thielemann.

Architecture

A city with a unique aesthetic, Berlin has an extremely heterogeneous architecture. The Potsdamer Platz district, completely razed during the war and divided by the Wall until 1989, was the most important reconstruction site after Reunification. Its ambitious constructions and its particular organization condense the main principles of urban planning at the end of the 20th century. In Berlin, architecture is also at the service of the duty of memory. From the outskirts of Tiergarten to the Reichstag, your guide will introduce you to these architectural places that bear witness to history.
