Trip to Salzburg from Thursday May 17th to Sunday May 20th 2018, 3 nights
organised by our partner Euridice Opéra

The city of Salzburg was intended to become the "Rome of the North." If Salzburg is so familiar, it’s because of its musical heritage. Here again resounds the notes of a certain Austrian genius, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. One cannot resist a stay, especially during the superb Salzburger Festspiele Pfingsten, the Pentecost festival hosted by the vivacious Cecilia Bartoli. Since becoming the artistic director, Cecilia Bartoli has breathed new life to the Festival.

Four exceptional evenings are proposed. On the concert side, the great Maestro Daniel Barenboim conducts his Staatskapelle Berlin in a Tchaikovsky and Grieg program. The famous Norwegian composer's concerto is performed by a piano legend: András Schiff. Two other great pianists, Pierre-Laurent Aimard and Markus Hinterhäuser with Genia Kühmeier, Andrè Schuen and the superb Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks conducted by Jérémie Rhorer. On the opera side, it's going to be a firework. Marc Minkowski conducts La Périchole with Aude Extrémo, Benjamin Bernheim, Laurent Alvaro, Lea Desandre... Cecilia Bartoli sings one of her most fabulous successes, The Italian in Algiers by Rossini staged by Moshe Leiser & Patrice Caurier. Rare and enjoyable moments, the Pentecost Festival is a major event.
