Aix-en-Provence rightly claims to be the capital of Provence. With a history that dates back to antiquity, the superb city has a unique heritage that indeed places it as one of the most important cultural capitals not only of the South of France but of the whole of France.

Its wealth does not stop at this unique architecture, these sublime palaces and museums (like the Granet Museum which offers exemplary exhibitions each season). Cultural life is abundant there thanks to the Grand Théâtre de Provence, the prestigious Easter Festival and the no less renowned Festival of Lyric Art which has been hosting the summer for 75 years.

The Easter Festival of Aix-en-Provence is today one of the great highlights of the international classical music scene. It celebrates its tenth anniversary this season.

It is traditional to program one of Bach's great works on Good Friday evening. The Matthieu was entrusted to Christophe Rousset who created the sensation. The day before, it is René Jacobs, another very great Baroque conductor, who conducts magnificent cantatas with also the most beautiful voices. Great artists again, Renaud Capuçon and Igor Levit gather around Bach, Busoni and Franck for a third moment of grace during this exceptional stay.

Another highlight, a private guide takes you on a discovery of the magnificent Aix with a visit to choose from among the many following themes: “The streets tell their story”, “Squares & Fountains”, “The jewels of Aix”, “Aix -en-Résistance”, ”Aix-en-Archéologie” or even ”Aix & Cézanne”.

This stay is an event with the promise of exceptional moments in a radiant city.
