The Castell Peralada Festival 2017

The Castell Peralada Festival is back with something for everyone. Here’s a quick taster to whet your appetite… Classical dance with Beauty and the Beast. The Malandain Biarritz Ballet Company brings us this wonderful fairy tale. The magic of love and the live music of Tchaikovsky conquers all. A must-see!

Opera is the star of the show from 5th to 9th August. The Carme Church is the setting for the Peralada début of young Russian soprano Julia Lezhneva on the evening of 5 August. This angel voice will delight audiences with her great technique and power of seduction.

Gregory Kunde returns on 6 August. After audiences fell in love with his Othello (Otello by Verdi, 2015 Festival), this time he will be performing an intimate concert at the Carme Church, where the audience can enjoy his beautiful voice and a great selection of opera arias.

And opera, OPERA writ large Madama Butterfly, Japanese drama from Puccini returns to the Castell Peralada Festival interpreted by Joan Anton Rechi and Alfons Flores in a new more poetic, more tragic production that tugs on the heartstrings…on the stage with four aces up its sleeves: Ermonela Jaho, Bryan Hymel, Carlos Álvarez and Gemma Coma-Alabert.

Welcome to Peralada, welcome to the show!
