International artists, special projects, premieres, classics and pearls of the repertoire, history and memory, but also topical: a structured programme in so many musical ‘snapshots' , the 49th edition of the Festival delle Nazioni dedicated to France will evoke, ' live ', the music, the atmosphere, the multiple sounds which crossed Paris in the late Nineteenth and the first two decades of the Twentieth century, which marked the transition from classicism to modernity.
The 16 concerts from 23 August to 3 September 2016 will animate Città di Castello - but also some of the most charming places of the Upper Tiber Valley . Katia and Marielle Labèque, the singer Rokia Traoré, Renaud Capuçon and Jérôme Ducros, Louis Lortie, the duo Musica Nuda by Petra Magoni and Ferruccio Spinetti with an original tribute to the song of French authors, the Dijon Bourgogne Orchestra directed by Gergely Madaras and the Orchestra della Toscana conducted by Joachim Jousse, the Quartet Zaide, the Sperimentale of Spoleto with the project Une soirée à Paris, Federico Mondelci and the ensemble Le Saxo, Danilo Rossi and Stefano Bezziccheri, the pianist Sun Hee You, a project dedicated to the cinema by Ivan Teobaldelli with unreleased music by Daniel Furlati, the winners of the Premio Burri 2015, a tribute to Debussy with Catherine Spaak and the flautist Massimo Mercelli and finally the premiere of L'Argent o La banca universale by the composer Pierre Thilloy on dramaturgy by Sandro Cappelletto, which tells the tragic story of a financial failure.
